Step right up to the Honeycomb Counting Carnival—where learning to count becomes an exciting adventure!

In this first experience, scholars join Victor and Victoria as they explore the world of numbers through fun, hands-on challenges and interactive carnival games. This adventure builds the foundation of number sense by helping scholars understand how numbers connect to real objects, patterns, and everyday situations.

Scholars begin by developing one-to-one correspondence—learning how to count objects accurately—before growing their skills to count, write, and work with numbers up to 20. As they progress, they will compare groups, identify more and less, and begin organizing numbers in meaningful ways.

Each cycle is designed to move scholars from discovery to confidence:

  • Discover Counting through hands-on exploration

  • Build Counting Skills with numbers to 20

  • Compare Quantities using real-world scenarios

  • Apply Learning through problem-solving challenges

Throughout the adventure, scholars engage in:
✔ Interactive practice activities
✔ “Pause Points” to explain their thinking
✔ Hive Checkpoints to show progress
✔ A final Hive Mission to apply everything they’ve learned

This experience is more than learning to count—it’s about building confidence, developing thinking strategies, and helping scholars understand how math works.

By the end of the Honeycomb Counting Carnival, scholars will not only count with accuracy—they will think, explain, and solve with confidence.
